The PoE & USB model is the redundancy option in the VTAP100 PRO range: it can draw power and connectivity from Ethernet or USB, and fail over between them. If the network drops, the reader keeps scanning through its USB host; if the till dies, PoE keeps it alive. For venues where a dead reader means a queue — stadium gates, busy QSR counters — that dual path is worth the small premium.

As with the rest of the VTAP 100 PRO family, pass reads are processed server-side, with Apple VAS and Google Smart Tap certification for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes, and optional VTAP Cloud management for monitoring your fleet.
